Default viable mesmer/el build?

i was thinking about a pvp build like this...

Earthquake
Aftershock
Energy Surge (i was also thinking energy burn instead with glyph of energy to counter act earthquake but then i thought the dmg to adjacent enemies was too good to let go)
Shatter Enchantment (if energy is a problem maybe drain enchantment)
Obsidian Flame
Mantra of resolve? (i am still thinking about this one, i wanted to stay in domination and earth magic)
Echo
Ward of Foes

Now i see potential energy problems with this build... but i think there is a way i can chain everything once... which is all you might need seeing how much damage it can potentially dish out... any suggestions?

The best way to test energy issues is by going to Isle of Nameless (outside Great Temple of Balthazar) and try out the skills on the dummies there. It is by far the easiest way to test a concept build to see if it is sustainable.

I didn't go try this build out, but it seems obvious that it will have a lot of energy issues. I'd recommend doing Glyph of Energy for your elite...since it works very well with Earthquake and Obsidian Flame (as you mentioned)...it'll keep the energy cost of EQ down and keep the exhaustion from killing you.

What exactly are you trying to achieve with this build? Lots of AOE damage? Is it for RA? HoH? GvG? If you're looking for large AoE damage, try out fire magic: Inferno->Flame Burst is a LOT of aoe damage, with a decent recharge and fast casting times.

It looks to me like you have a LOT of damage spells in there, but I'd recommend cutting down on them. You may be able to hit the combo once...but after that you're drained, exhausted, and not much help to your team. I recommend either focusing on earth or on domination damage, and then using some points in inspiration to make sure you have the energy to keep it up.

Good luck!

thanks, do you think this would be a better build if i went the Elemental route for more energy?
yes i was thinking about mass aoe damage with the knock down effect (and maybe ward) to prevent the team from getting away... i thought it would be good for 4v4 random team because most of the time they start off standing together, i just run over chain cast and i should be doing over 450 damage easy.

But i guess i am starting to sound more like an ele than a mes... i just dont have all the skills i want to play with... i guess i have to make a new character and run around and get them... but that seems like a waste of time...any suggestions in how i can do good dmg but still stay an effective mes?

If you're gonna use Mantra of Resolve, may as well go Ele and get that 16 attribute rockin. Only time you'd want to go Mez primary is to prevent interrupts by using Fast Casting.

The trick to doing the mana-expensive nuke builds is knowing how to position yourself and time your maneuvers. Both of which are tricky.

edit: btw, there are some very good Earth builds that use Kinetic Armor and Stone Daggers to keep up the former while doing damage.
